if (_root.HP<0) { gotoAndPlay("lose"); }
if (_root.enemyHP<0) { gotoAndPlay("win"); }
instead of the "==" just use less than signs, then wahtever the number is below 0 it will take you to win or lose
good start on the engine, just add more attacks and a story, and try to either use all sprites, or no sprites, keep it consistant
